Coffee Dirge
Yikes! Our "official" website hasn't been updated for awhile. So come on over heeeeere.
I'm up to my knees in a 10 page paper about independent record labels right now and veering off into the wrong places. Why? Stoked for this weekend.
Two shows:
Columbus "Comforts" Release
@ Oldfield's on High
March 12
w/ Blastronauts, Monolithic Cloud Parade, Darynyk
We're calling it a release show because we haven't been to Columbus since our three day jaunt with the Yawns and the Nauts.
Some-things Magazine Benefit!
March 13
@ The Union
w/ Casual Future, Five Deadly Venoms, Octoberfist, Mr. Leg, Hairy Hearts, Zach Oden Band
Uh. Tons of great bands and a really good cause. Some-things magazine was mentioned earlier in our blog and we stand by it. There will be a raffle too. See what those little tickets can turn into! Hope for the future in the dying light!
We got some write-ups:
Columbus Alive
Alive Blog: Sensory Overload
The Fire Note
^ Those are most recent, check our Myspace for more!
Finally, I watched the greatest-bang-boom-movie-ever-made-in-standard-time a couple of days ago. Here is its most gut wrenching, inspiring and, I promise, not a bit overwritten scene - enjoy:
go quietly into the night - goodbye.

Yo dewds,
We had a total blast at the release show last week. We would like to thank Casual Future for opening up for us and Scott at The Union for booking the show for us and for putting up posters. Here are a few pics from the evening, thanks goes out to Anna Edwards for snapin the pics. I threw my camera at her right before the set and she got some great stuff.

The Aquabear County Fair! We're playing it! This is put on by a wonderful collective called the Aquabear Legion dedicated wholeheartedly to the music, art, film, etc, that is born on Ohio's soil. Check out their website for more details on the fair and the rest of what the group is up to.
Here's our slot:
Thursday, March 5th, 7pm
Aquabear County Fair Kickoff at The (Bruce) Manor
with Russenorsk, Five Deadly Venoms, Dinner of Swords
Couldn't be more excited. Playing with two wonderful bands (do look them up) at a fantastic spot.
The (Bruce) Manor is a house located at 221 W. Union St. in Athens, OH. Donations welcome. This house is run by an amazing group of guys and hosts hordes of shows throughout the year. Check them out at their Myspace

We had a great night in Pittsburgh yesterday. Our set seemed to be well received, and as always it was wonderful to play with the Ball of Flame Shoot Fire gentlemen. Their new record is fantastic, you can pick it up here.
Jen was on camera duty for the evening and got some really great shots, Thanks Jen!
